Executive Assistant to the Ambassador of Argentina
The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Pretoria is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, professional and organised individual to serve as Executive Assistant to the Ambassador.
This position provides high-level executive, administrative and organisational support to the Ambassador and plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Ambassador's Office. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic diplomatic environment requiring excellent judgement, discretion, initiative and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the Ambassador's diary, appointments and daily programme.
- Coordinating meetings with government officials, diplomatic missions, international organisations, business representatives and other stakeholders.
- Managing the Ambassador's correspondence, telephone calls and visitors.
- Drafting, proofreading and formatting official correspondence, notes and other documents.
- Preparing briefing files, background documentation and meeting materials.
- Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements.
- Organising official visits, diplomatic functions, receptions, working lunches and representational events.
- Managing RSVP lists and coordinating protocol arrangements.
- Liaising with Embassy staff to ensure the effective coordination of the Ambassador's programme.
- Maintaining confidential records, databases and filing systems.
- Following up on instructions and deadlines issued by the Ambassador.
- Providing administrative support on special projects and performing other duties as required.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A relevant university degree.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work under pressure while managing competing priorities.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- A proactive, flexible and solution-oriented approach.
- South African Nationality or valid work permit (mandatory).
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Previous experience in an embassy, diplomatic mission, international organisation or multinational company.
- Knowledge of diplomatic protocol and event management.
- Experience coordinating high-level official visits and international travel.
Employment Conditions
