On December 15, a virtual meeting was held by videoconference between the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Pablo Tettamanti and the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Mr. Alvin Botes.
Accompanying the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, recently appointed as Argentine Ambassador to South Africa, Ambassador Alberto D 'Alotto and the Director of Sub-Saharan Africa, Ambassador Claudio Pérez Paladino. Also participating in the South African delegation were Ambassador Mzolisa Bona, Chief Director of Latin America and the Caribbean, along with the South African Ambassador to our country, Phumelele Gwala, and officials from the South African Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, both deputy ministers highlighted the multiple coincidences, common values and excellent degree of cooperation in agriculture and agro-industry, science and technology, education, human rights, sports, among others and agreed to hold the Binational Commission meeting in 2021, as an excellent opportunity to relaunch the strategic bilateral relationship.
