The Argentine Ambassador to South Africa, Raúl Ailán, and representatives of the Commercial Section held a working meeting with Mr. J. Lamola, CEO of South African Airways (SAA), who was accompanied by Tebogo Tsimane (Chief Commercial Officer) and Elliot Themba (responsible for government relations).

During the meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on air connectivity recently signed by the civil aviation authorities of Argentina and South Africa was discussed. Information was also shared on the rapid growth of the Argentine air transport industry, and recent statistics were presented showing a high potential for the re-establishment of a direct route between Argentina and South Africa.

SAA representatives expressed the “dream of one day returning to Buenos Aires with an SAA aircraft”, noted that Argentina is their second most important market in Latin America and committed to work together to evaluate the opening of a new route in the future.
