Argentine Embassy Cup: Promoting the Polo Industry in Namibia and Southern Africa

The Embassy took part in a polo demonstration event in Windhoek, showcasing the excellence of Argentine horses, players and services, and promoting new business opportunities in Southern Africa.

On 17 October, La Muela Polo Club in Windhoek, Namibia, hosted a sporting event that attracted more than 400 spectators and featured Argentine, Namibian and Angolan players.

The Embassy supported the event by presenting the Argentine Embassy Cup, highlighting our country’s international leadership in polo and the opportunities offered by its value chain, from horse breeding and exports to player training and specialised services.

La Muela Polo Club currently has 22 Argentine polo horses and plans to acquire more. Its representatives will soon visit Argentina to attend the Argentine Open Polo Championship in Palermo and explore new business opportunities.

During the event, Embassy officials presented the catalogue of industry products and services compiled by the Argentine Polo Association and met with representatives of the sector.

The event helped strengthen sporting and commercial ties with Namibia and raise the profile of Argentine polo in Southern Africa, a region where the sport offers promising prospects for growth.

Argentine polo embodies our sporting tradition and excellence, and is also an industry with export potential and international reach.
