The 55th edition of the Nampo Harvest Day Agricultural Fair was held in May, and Argentina participated with a pavilion in which 7 Argentine companies were present accompanied by the Argentine Investment and Trade Agency International (AAICI), Exponenciar and the ICBC bank.
The Nampo Harvest Day fair is the largest agricultural exhibition on the African continent and takes place annually on the outskirts of the city of Bothaville, Free State Province, with over 750 exhibitors.
In this edition it is estimated that around 80,000 visitors were received over the course of the 4 days.
The following Argentine agricultural machinery companies were part of the delegation this year: Apache, Blade, Agropartes. Cestari, Fontana, Ombú and Tecsar Industries.
The Embassy accompanied and assisted the members of the Argentine delegation during this week.
Mr. Theo de Jager, Executive Director of SAAI (Southern Africa Agri Initiative), who was president of WFO (World Farmers organization) and is part of FANRPAN and Agri All Africa, visited the stand and gave a talk to all members of the delegation, answering questions about the agricultural sector and the possibilities that both countries can produce together and, from there, export to the rest of the African continent.
Argentina and South Africa maintain an excellent relationship of cooperation in agricultural matters and the annual participation in the Nampo Harvest Day Fair contributes to the strengthening and deepening of these ties.
