25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE TERRORIST ATTACK TO THE AMIA. COMMEMORATIVE EVENT

The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in South Africa hosted on the 6th of June, at the official Residence, a commemorative event on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Terrorist attack to the AMIA. Mr Shaun Zagnoev, National Chairman of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD)- leading Jewish Authority in South Africa - alongside Mrs Wendy Khan, National Director of the institution, were amongst the attendants as well as Diplomatic Corps, members of the Argentine and Jewish communities, representatives from centres of human rights and members of the press.

After the projection of the commemorative video, H.E Ambassador Alberto D'Alotto offered a speech in which he mentioned that: "The memory of those who died in this tragical event imposes us the obligation of persevere in search of truth and justice. After 25 years we are still struggling and we will not cease in our objective to ensure that all those who had responsibility in the attacks, appear before the argentine Courts, are interrogated and eventually condemned".

Mrs Wendy Khan emphasized the importance of this initiative and that, "these events are being carried out in 25 Argentine Embassies in commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the Terrorist Attack to the AMIA". 

The commemoration concluded with a minute of silence in honour of the victims of the attack.
