The Embassy of Argentina in South Africa participated in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) class at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), the business school of the University of Pretoria, focusing on recent developments in the Argentine economy and the country's prospects for economic growth and development.

The session formed part of a course on international economic development case studies led by Professor Lyal White, an expert in international political economy and economic relations between Africa and other regions of the world.

The invitation provided an opportunity to offer students a first-hand perspective on Argentina's ongoing macroeconomic reform process and the key challenges associated with restoring sustainable growth and strengthening the country's competitiveness.

The presentation outlined the main features of the Argentine Government's stabilisation programme, including reforms aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability and achieving fiscal balance, as well as measures designed to improve the investment climate, encourage private sector activity, and strengthen Argentina's integration into the global economy.

The session gave rise to a highly engaging exchange with MBA students, who raised questions on recent economic developments in Argentina, the impact of the reform programme on the business environment, opportunities for trade and investment, and the historical and institutional factors that have shaped the country's economic development.
