Between 8 and 10 May, dancers from across the community came together to take part in classes, workshops, and milongas led by international maestros Rui Barroso (Portugal) and Magdalena Gutierrez (Argentina), in an atmosphere full of music, connection, and a shared passion for tango.
From technical sessions to long nights of dancing, the weekend celebrated not only Argentine tango as a cultural tradition, but also the vibrant tango community that continues to grow in South Africa.
Artist Oriana Pérez Casanova accompanied the occasion with an exhibition of her artwork, and we were able to share traditional Argentine dishes thanks to Sandra Peña.
The Embassy had the pleasure of supporting Milonga Milonguita and the tango community in this very special event.
