Inauguration of the joint exhibition between Robben Island (SA) and ESMA Memory Site (ARG) "South-South. Present memories". The event will be led by the Argentine Minister of Justice Germán Garavano and the South African Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa, accompanied by South African Judge and Former Deputy Chief Justice of South Africa Dikgang Ernest Moseneke, at the Nelson Mandela Gateway (V&A Waterfront, Cape Town) on Thursday March 28th at 16H00. The “South-South. Present memories” exhibition shows South African and Argentine history in parallel: Apartheid in South Africa and State Terrorism in Argentina (1976-1983), as well as the different forms of resistance to oppression, the universal character of crimes against humanity and the political processes that brought both countries towards freedom, democracy and justice.
