On March 28 at the airport of Ezeiza, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was seen off the last direct flight of the company South African Airways for the Johannesburg-Buenos Aires (SAA 227) route.

By unilateral decision of the company, SAA aircrafts will not continue to provide this service, which was launched in April 2009 as a result of intergovernmental talks (2007-2008). We regret this decision will impact the bilateral relationship in terms of trade, tourism, sports, and cultural exchange, and we hope the prompt restoration of this direct route.
